Narrative

Contract employee was grinding a piece of metal to weld onto a rock truck, a piece of metal flew under the shield and behind safety glasses, contacting eye. Cause of injury was may have been the type of shield employee was wearing. Compliance with rules/regs, PPE, mining equip. not a factor. Miner proficiency could be a factor.
