## Narrative

The employee opened a sample port valve to determine if a hydrated lime blockage had cleared the elevator.  While the valve was open the blockage broke free sending material out the valve and onto the employee.  The employees was wearing safety glasses but the material got behind the foam seal of the glasses and caused injury around and to employee's eyes.
