Narrative

Employee was recovering rail from the 6 West Longwall Section when the rail fell from the scoop bucket, pinning employee's finger between the tie and rail, resulting in a fracture to the right index finger. Cause of injury was awareness. Compliance with rules/regs, PPE, mining equip/systems not a factor. Miner proficiency may be a factor.
