The EE was moving sand with the 988 loader when the joystick locked into the autoraise position with a full bucket of sand. Due to the incline of the pile, this raised the counter weight and rear wheels. The operator kicked the loader out and this slammed the bucket to the ground. This threw the operator into the ROPS and caused a 3"" gash in head and a concussion.
