## Narrative

Employee was cutting mine belt with a utility knife when the blade slipped and jabbed EE in the left thigh just above the knee. The employee should not have been cutting toward self. EE was taken to Med Express by the on shift EMT foreman (after first aid was rendered) when EE was then referred to the hospital. At the hospital EE received stitches to close the laceration.
