## Narrative

No injuries.  5 contractor employees were using the elevator when it by-passed it limit switch for the foor and stopped about 4 - 6 inches above the floor.  We directed the contractors to slowly release the brake and descend the 4 - 6"" to the floor allowing the elevator doors to open and the contractors to walk out of the elevator.
