Narrative

Employee was installing a bit insert on a continuous miner and was striking the insert with a pick hammer when a piece of the hammer face broke off and embedded itself in EE's left pointer finger. Metal was removed from employee's hand by a surgeon on 12/29 and sutures were used after the procedure. No workdays were lost.
