Injured Employee was supervising repair of the longwall shearer. As the shearer was being repositioned, a cutting bit contacted a shield and a small piece of metal broke free & traveled approx. 30' & struck the employee on the inside of EE's left forearm and became embedded under the skin. The piece of metal was later removed and employee received 3 stitches.
