Injured employee was stepping out of the operator's compartment of a diesel locomotive to throw a track switch. As employee stepped off the locomotive onto the mine floor, left knee gave out causing pain & swelling. Finished shift. Did not slip, trip, or fall or step on any obstruction. No rules or regulations were violated. Was wearing required PPE & has experience in task.
