A non-injury fire occurred when acetylene gas leaking from a cylinder was accidently ignited. The fire was contained within the metal cylinder storage box. Fire extinguishers, rock dust and water were used to extinguish the fire in about 13 min. The mine was evacuated until area was deemed safe by State, Federal and Company officials. The damaged equip was removed from the mine.
