Narrative

Mechanic's hand was briefly pinched between a hydraulic shovel roller assembly and the shovel frame during installation. Contact occurred when the assembly being installed unexpectedly pivoted upward while the mechanic's hand was on top of it. Nondisplaced fracture of the second metacarpal bone, right hand.
