## Narrative

Employee was attempting to place an oval shaped pipe into a circular hole on a car. EE struck the pipe with a sledgehammer in an attempt to force it into the hole and the pipe sprung back and struck EE under EE's left eyebrow, causing a laceration which required 8 stitches. Compliance with rules/regs, PPE, mining equip/systems not a factor. Miner proficiency may be a factor.
