Gas inundation occurred while cutting through SC-6 CBM well on 7 West section #2 entry near 41 block. Horizontal well bore was larger than anticipated and the mine had to acquire larger packers to plug the well. Methane levels were over 1.5% for more than 15 minutes after ventilation was established. No problems with equipment or compliance issues, training or PPE.
