NASA’s Management of the International Space Station and Efforts to Commercialize Low Earth Orbit (IG-22-005)

November 30, 2021 Astronauts have lived and worked onboard the International Space Station for more than 20 years. In this audit, we examined the costs associated with the Station’s continued use and maintenance, risks to its structure, NASA’s utilization of the ISS, and the Agency’s plans for commercialization of low Earth orbit.
