NASA’s Cost Estimating and Reporting Practices for Multi-Mission Programs (IG-22-011)

NASA has a long history of groundbreaking accomplishments but has struggled to establish credible cost estimates for many of its major acquisitions. In this audit, we examined the Agency’s processes for estimating, tracking, and reporting life-cycle costs and questioned whether current practices support transparency and accountability.
