## Abstract

The Department of the Treasury (``Department'' or ``Treasury'') is publishing in final form an amendment to 31 CFR Part 356 (Uniform Offering Circular for the Sale and Issue of Marketable Book-Entry Treasury Bills, Notes, and Bonds). This amendment makes changes necessary to accommodate the public offering of new Treasury inflation-indexed securities by the Department. In addition, the amendment makes certain technical clarifications and conforming changes. The proposed rule was published for public comment on September 27, 1996.
