## Abstract

The Department of the Treasury is issuing revisions to the interim regulations for the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Program and the Bank Enterprise Award (BEA) Program published in the Federal Register on October 19, 1995. The CDFI Program and BEA Program were authorized by the Community Development Banking and Financial Institutions Act of 1994. The programs are designed to facilitate the flow of lending and investment capital into distressed communities and to individuals who have been unable to take full advantage of the financial services industry. This action also extends the comment period on the CDFI Program and BEA Program interim regulations published on October 19, 1995 to March 15, 1996.
