Abstract
The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) is issuing a final rule streamlining its deposit-related regulations. The final rule will eliminate duplicative, overlapping, and outdated regulations, and those that micromanage savings associations. The final rule also codifies the OTS position on federal preemption of state laws affecting deposit- related activities.
