In accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, the Department of the Treasury gives notice of a final rule exempting the system of records entitled the Seized Asset and Case Tracking System (SEACATS) Treasury/Customs .213 from certain provisions of the Privacy Act. The exemptions are intended to increase the value of the system of records for law enforcement purposes, to comply with legal prohibitions against the disclosure of certain kinds of information, and to protect the privacy of individuals identified in the system of records.
