## Abstract

This rule relaxes volume regulation implemented under the California almond marketing order (order) during the 1999-2000 crop year (August 1 through July 31). The order regulates the handling of almonds grown in California and is locally administered by the Almond Board of California (Board). This rule releases, in three stages, reserve almonds into normal salable channels. One-third of the reserve will be released on the effective date of this rule, the second-third will be released on June 1, 2000, and the final-third will be released on July 1, 2000. Releasing the reserve is necessary to provide a sufficient quantity of almonds to meet anticipated trade demand and carryover needs.
