## Abstract

We are amending the regulations concerning the importation of animal products to relieve certain restrictions on the importation of poultry meat and other poultry products from the Mexican States of Sinaloa and Sonora. Because of the existence of exotic Newcastle disease in Mexico, we have required poultry meat and other poultry products from Sinaloa and Sonora to be cooked, sealed, and packaged to certain specifications to be eligible for entry into the United States. This rule establishes new, less restrictive conditions for the importation of poultry meat and other poultry products from Sinaloa and Sonora into the United States. This action is based on a risk assessment indicating that such importations will present a negligible risk of introducing exotic Newcastle disease into the United States.
