## Abstract

This rule amends the regulations governing the Farm Service Agency's direct operating loan (OL) program by simplifying the application process for certain farmers requesting assistance of $50,000 or less and for certain recurring OL applicants. By making FSA's direct OL program application process more consistent with standard industry practices, loan processing will be more efficient and less time consuming. This will decrease the time-frame for family-size farmers to receive their credit, thereby allowing them to conduct their farming operations in a more timely manner.
