Abstract

<RM>The Department of Agriculture (Department) is adopting, as a final rule, without change, the provisions of an interim final rule suspending indefinitely a portion of an order provision concerning the release of reserve cherries. The suspension continues to allow cherries held in inventory reserves to be released for exempt uses such as exports. The Cherry Industry Administrative Board (Board) recommended this action to allow reserve cherries to be used in outlets other than normal commercial outlets. The Board is responsible for local administration of the marketing order which regulates the handling of tart cherries grown in the production area.
