## Abstract

This rule implements provisions of the Lamb Promotion, Research, and Information Order (Order), which established a national and industry-funded lamb promotion, research, and information program pursuant to the Commodity Promotion, Research, and Information Act of 1996 (Act). This rule will implement Order provisions concerning the collection and remittance of assessments, procedures for obtaining a refund, reporting, and books and records. In addition, comments are requested on a new form for certification of exempt transactions. Since the Lamb Promotion, Research, and Information Board (Board) is not in place, this rule provides for the Department of Agriculture (Department) to receive assessments and reports beginning July 1, 2002.
