## Abstract

We are amending the regulations to add restrictions on the importation of pine and fir logs and lumber, as well as other unmanufactured wood articles, from Mexican States adjacent to the United States/Mexico border. This rule requires that these wood articles meet certain treatment and handling requirements to be eligible for importation into the United States. This action is necessary to prevent the introduction into the United States of plant pests, including forest pests, with unmanufactured wood articles from Mexico.
