## Abstract

We are adopting as a final rule, without change, an interim rule that amended the regulations to provide for the use of irradiation as a treatment for sweetpotatoes to be moved interstate from Hawaii. The interim rule also provided that the sweetpotatoes have to meet certain additional requirements, including inspection and packaging requirements. The interim rule provided for the use of irradiation as an alternative to methyl bromide for the treatment of sweetpotatoes moving interstate from Hawaii.
