## Abstract

This final rule increases the current minimum size requirements for kiwifruit grown in California and for kiwifruit imported into the United States that are shipped to the fresh market. The minimum size requirement is increasing from Size 49, which is defined as 60 pieces of fruit per 8-pound sample, to Size 45, which is defined as 55 pieces of fruit per 8-pound sample. This rule will prevent shipments of low-quality, undersized kiwifruit from having a negative effect on the market.
