Abstract
We are amending the animal importation regulations to prohibit the importation of hedgehogs and tenrecs into the United States from countries affected by foot-and-mouth disease. Additionally, we are imposing certain restrictions on the importation of hedgehogs and tenrecs into the United States from countries declared free of foot- and-mouth disease. These actions are necessary to prevent the introduction of foot-and-mouth disease and other communicable animal diseases into the United States.
