## Abstract

We are adopting as a final rule, without change, an interim rule that amended the Mexican fruit fly regulations by adding California to the list of quarantined States and by designating portions of Los Angeles County and San Diego County, CA, as regulated areas. The interim rule was necessary to impose certain restrictions on the interstate movement of regulated articles from the regulated areas in California in order to prevent the spread of the Mexican fruit fly to noninfested areas of the United States.
