## Abstract

This rule implements a provision of the 1993 Mickey Leland Childhood Hunger Relief Act establishing a deduction for households that make legally obligated child support payments to or for a nonhousehold member. The provision results in increased benefits for households that pay child support, thereby enabling more parents to meet their legal obligation. A proposed rule was published December 8, 1994.
