Abstract

We are amending the regulations concerning ruminants and swine that are imported from a country where foot-and-mouth disease or rinderpest exists into a zoological park in the United States, to establish conditions under which such animals may be moved from one zoo to another within the United States. This change will benefit zoo programs that move animals for breeding and other purposes, and will facilitate the movement of animals for endangered species breeding programs, while continuing to protect against the introduction of dangerous animal diseases into the United States.
