Abstract

This rule revises the handling and reporting requirements for California nectarines and peaches by modifying the grade, size, maturity, and container requirements for fresh shipments of these fruits, beginning with 1998 season shipments. This rule modifies requirements for placement of Federal-State Inspection Service lot stamps, as well as establishing a single due date for handlers' shipment reports. This rule enables handlers to continue shipping fresh nectarines and peaches meeting consumer needs in the interest of producers, handlers, and consumers of these fruits. This rule also corrects the address of the California Tree Fruit Agreement.
