Abstract

The Department of Agriculture (Department) is adopting, as a final rule, without change, an interim final rule which revised the container requirements prescribed under the California grape marketing order. This rule continues in effect revised dimensions for three containers currently authorized for use by grape handlers regulated under the marketing order, the addition of two new containers, and several conforming and formatting changes to the container requirements. The revised container requirements conform with those recently adopted by the State of California, address the marketing and shipping needs of the grape industry, are expected to improve returns for handlers and producers, and are in the interest of consumers.
