Abstract
We are amending the regulations for importing animal products to allow the importation of poultry carcasses and parts or products of poultry carcasses from regions where exotic Newcastle disease (END) is considered to exist if they originated in a region free of END and meet certain conditions with respect to processing and shipping. This action removes some restrictions on the importation of poultry products from regions where END is considered to exist. We believe the conditions for importation will continue to protect the United States from END.
