The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the contact became aware of a spare tire in the middle of the roadway. While attempting to avoid driving over the tire, the contact swerved and was struck by the vehicle on the driverâs side of the vehicle. The driverâs side seat air bag failed to deploy properly. The contact stated that there were holes in the air bag. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and call 911. The contact was later told that no emergency service was available. The contact was informed to drive to the residence. There was no medical treatment at the scene however, the contact did see a doctor for pain in their upper left arm and left hip, and side. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
