Last Friday, 7/25/21, while driving home from work, my car instrument panel, speed odometer, everything went totally black, I lost steering and pulled into a 7-11 parking lot. The passenger side of the car was smoking. I was locked in as door unlock wouldnât work, nothing would work. I was unable to turn the car off and literally felt like I could pass out from smoke inhalation quickly called 911. People in the parking lot were trying to unlock my door to get me out of the vehicle. The fire department arrived and after a few minutes were able to get me out, but the car would not turn off. They forced the hood open and had to cut the cables to the battery to turn it off. It was terrifying!!! I canât imagine what would have happened if I had been on the Turnpike or major Highway, Iâm sure I would have crashed the vehicle. I had the car towed to Shamrock Automotive who advised that the PCF module Wiring harness had literally caught on fire. Currently it would cost over $8K to fix the car and itâs not worth more than $9k.
