## Narrative
The contact's husband owned a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact had initially received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000(SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that while her son was driving and had approached a stop sign, the brake pedal failed upon depression and collided with another vehicle. The contact was uncertain if any warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The airbags deployed upon impact. The contact nor any other individuals involved in the accident were injured. A police report was filed. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it had been deemed a total loss.
