The contact owned a 2014 Kia Soul. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, smoke started coming from the air vents then the vehicle was filled with smoke. The contact pulled over, exited the vehicle, and saw there was fire coming from under the hood. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The contact was unaware if there was a fire department report filed. No medical attention was received for the contact and his wife, who was a passenger. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and will have the vehicle towed to an unknown dealer for diagnosis. The failure mileage was approximately 105,230.
