The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that while driving at various low speeds, a burning odor was detected. The burning odor affected the contact's asthma. Additionally, there was fluid leaking onto the garage floor. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with fluid leaking from the transfer case. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the mechanic. The dealer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN and due to the age of the vehicle, it was not covered. The manufacturer advised the contact to have the vehicle repaired by the dealer, and the dealer could request financial assistance on the contact's behalf.
