The contact owned a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while towing a trailer and driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle started to fishtail. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to mitigate the failure by letting up off the accelerator pedal and then gently depressing the brake pedal however, the actions failed to correct the failure and got worse. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the center median metal guard rail on the passengerâs side front and rear of the vehicle with the trailer compressed against the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the Anti-Sway feature failed to operate as designed. A police report was filed. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was not diagnosed. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000. The vehicle was destroyed.
