Narrative

The contact owned a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, she heard an abnormal noise and the AC vent started to blow out hot air. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that she parked at a nearby store parking lot and she saw fire at two different locations. The contact stated she was able to enter the store and extinguish the small fire located on the front passenger’s side on the instrument cluster with a gallon of water. The fire department extinguished the larger fire located by the AC wiring assembly. The fire department also stated that the fire was caused by an electrical failure and deemed the vehicle a total loss. The contact stated she burned multiple fingers on her right hand and the fire department assisted with her burns. A fire report was not filed. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to a tow lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
