The contact owned a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V699000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to the recall was unavailable. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer and was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated on 1/26/2022 after turning on the ignition, the electronic throttle control warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive to her residence. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure and was not able to schedule an appointment till April/2022. The contact called another local dealer: Calavan CDJR West (1251 Thornton Rd, Lithia Springs, GA 30122:(770) 942-1102), and was able to make an appointment for 1/31/2022 to diagnose the failure and complete recall associated with the VIN. The contact stated on her way to her appointment while driving 65 mph when depressed the accelerator pedal but failed to go over 60 mph. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road and called the local dealer Calavan CDJR West to seek towing service. The dealer was informed to call any towing company to have the vehicle towed. The contact stated while calling a towing company, she saw smoke exiting the front of the hood.
