The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the rear window defroster and the window slide began to smoke and there was an abnormal noise. The contact turned off the defroster to avoid a fire. The contact has discontinued the use of the defroster and remote start feature in order to avoid a potential fire. The contact called the dealer who advised that there was no recall for the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure.
