The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH in between two intersections with no nearby vehicles or objects, the vehicle started beeping and the brake warning indicator was flashing on the instrument panel. The vehicle then erroneously suddenly activated the brakes and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. The contact stated that his wife who was seated in the passengerâs seat sustained bruised from the seat belt to her shoulder. There was no medical attention provided. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact was also informed that sometimes the metal plates on the road may give a false indicator of a vehicle causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified by the dealer of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
