Narrative

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving at 20 MPH, the brakes seized, causing the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle. The B-LSD and ABS warning lights were illuminated. No air bags were deployed. The contact did not sustain any injury, and medical attention was not received. Two passengers in the other vehicle later sustained bodily injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicles involved in the collision were able to drive away from the scene. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the incorrect ABS module was installed and that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to the delta stroke sensor malfunctioning. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 226,000.
