Narrative

While driving 40-50mph, my 2023 QX60 malfunctioned sensing the car was in a front end collision forcefully stopping the car. The force was so strong that I thought a large truck hit me from behind. After realizing I was not in an accident, the dashboard was lit up with malfunction warnings. I was 5 miles from my local Infinity dealership when this occurred. I was able to drive straight to the dealership. The dashboard warnings stayed lit with safety warnings. The Infinity dealership had a service technician inspect my vehicle upon arriving. I was informed that my vehicle was unsafe to drive and the car generated safety malfunction codes with the technician. The car needed to have the ADES Control Unit Replaced and the parts needed to repair the vehicle was on back order. I received a loaner vehicle all within 30 -45 minutes after arriving. I was very stressed and in a state of shock that I broke down crying. Had I drove my normal commute to work that day, it would’ve been fatal. The Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in Louisiana is the worst place to encounter.I’m 42, and never had a vehicle accident. Medical treatment was needed after this incident. My car was serviced days before this happened by the Infinity dealership because the shifter malfunctioned while driving. Warning notices displayed on the screen so I pulled over and was unable to get the car back in drive. The vehicle generated a code upon arriving at the dealership.
