## Narrative
on Feb 20, 2023, during my evening lunch break about 7:30 pm, I drove my car to a nearby gas station to fill it. As I was attempting to back into place, my brakes froze and a "Low Braking Power" message appears in my dash and my car hit a pole because it would not stop. On Feb 21, 2023, I towed it to our family mechanic who informed me that there was a recall on this issue and to take it to a dealer instead. I had it towed to Temecula Valley Toyota. They offered me a rental car while they repaired the recall issue and sent a request to Toyota to repair the damage to my bumper from the loss of brake performance. I was told there would be no charge because it was a recall. They wanted a deposit of $100 since we only had a debit card not a credit card. on March 8, someone left a message on my voicemail saying Toyota said they were only paying for 2 days and they wanted to let us know they would be charging a substantial amount to our car. This time of the call was 4:48Pm. We called back at 4:55p and got no answer. I immediately checked my bank statement and I had been charged $675. Toyota has had my car since 2-21-23 and no info on its return. Customer Service Relation person called after we did an online complaint with Toyota, and also with a Toyota person at Toyota.com named Matthew. The Customer Relations person who called around 3-18 or 3-19 and said the case was with Toyota Legal. Its 3-28-23 and no information. We want our $675.00 back because we have auto insurance that
