Narrative

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while her daughter was driving at approximately 45 MPH and in heavy traffic, the vehicle in front of the contact's daughter stopped suddenly and the daughter crashed into the rear end of the other vehicle. The contact stated that the force of the impact deployed the air bag and the seat belt had locked up. The contact's daughter was able to unbuckle the seat belt, however, it would not retract into the normal position. There were no injuries to the daughter or the other driver, however, the daughter's vehicle had to be towed away. The police were on the scene and filed a report. The vehicle was towed to a collision repair shop. The contact stated all of the body repair work was completed, however, the seat belt was on national back order and the vehicle had only been partially repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,084.
