I was driving my 2021 Honda CR-V vehicle at residential speed (exact speed unknown). Car suddenly stopped in street causing me to jerk forward in driver seat. As the car stopped, I saw the orange BRAKE symbol appear in front dash. I was accelerating at time of incident. I was not using the brakes. I was injured with severe whiplash. Pain so severe that I also made an error with administration of a pain reliever when I arrived home. This put me and my passenger at risk due to the failure of what I learned was the CMBS in my vehicle. If another car was following too closely behind me at the time the car abruptly stopped, this could have been a more serious accident. This incident happened today 11/22/2023 at approximately 11:30 am EST. I have not had an opportunity to contact the dealer as I have been in pain since it happened. Also, a few weeks ago, I noticed the BRAKE symbol appeared while driving while accelerating. The car jerked but it did not fully stop. Date of that incident unknown. The car has not yet been inspected by anyone since todayâs incident. I found information about the CMBS issue for my car type after searching for a known recall online this evening.
