The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, he observed flames emanating from underneath the vehicle, prompting him to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. After a visual inspection of the vehicle, the contact observed that the fire originated in the fuel tank. Local emergency fire services arrived and were able to extinguish the flames. A police and fire report was filed, with no injuries reported. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, awaiting investigation by the manufacturer.
